Putnam City North’s theme this year is “Comm-unity,” helping to promote our cooperation with one another. However, the theme isn’t being talked much about within the student body. In order to attempt to put a bigger spotlight on “Comm-unity,” I interviewed Mrs. Buhr.
The interview is the following:

Q. How would you describe Comm-unity?
A. What do you mean by Comm-unity? The focus here was on Unity. I wanted to develop a sense of

community between PCN and our feeder schools. This is similar to what is felt in a small town where every small student looks forward to going to the high school.

Q. What are some things we can do to promote the theme?
A. To help all students and families in the PCN feeder pattern to feel connected to PCN.

Q. How can you and others demonstrate Comm-UNITY?
A. Again, I wanted to create a small town feeling. I want to see our kids going to the five feeder

elementary schools and doing projects, and I want to find ways to bring these kids to our events.

Q. How well do you think you and other students are displaying community?
A. Great! The t-shirts were popular among families of students at all schools.

Q. What’s an example of you or someone you know displaying community?
A. We already have students who have worked color runs at Hefner. We plan to have students from

the seven feeder schools come to PCN for winter drama performances and January choir performances.

Q. Do you think teachers are also showing community? If so, what’s an example?

A. I am very happy and am hopeful it will continue to grow.
