Are you constantly feeling overwhelmed? Do you feel like going into an epitome of violent rage every time you see a new assignment in your google classroom? You might be a “little” (extremely) under stress from too much school.
An article on teen stress from crossrivertherapy states that 61% of teens experience stress over producing satisfying grades. I know for a fact that trying to maintain a balance of good grades by itself can be a challenging task. Also, there are a lot of teens who have actual jobs, and have to work. Add the natural stressors of life (family issues, relationships, friends and romance, etc) and it can just sometimes just be a little too much. So, here are a few things to take into consideration to help you release some of that nagging stress so we can accomplish some of those goals in life.
Hobbies you enjoy
When thinking of relieving stress, the first thing that might come to mind is something calming. Some people might not like the idea of having to go all zen and meditate and stuff. So, I advise that you do something you enjoy. If you like reading or journaling, do that. Maybe you like to listen to music or something like that- you can just take some time out of your day or week to do these things before or after you start your responsibilities. This could help you because you’ll have that personal me time.
Self care
Depending on how your schedule looks, self care could be another good way to relax, and when I say self care I don’t mean taking time out of your day to do something you like. I mean spending time on yourself the whole day. For example mediation, binging shows or movies you’ve been wanting to watch, cleaning, doing your hair, taking some bubble baths, or going shopping. Planning a day where it focuses on nothing but you can sound a little selfish, but I promise when you’re burnt out from school or life, it’s well needed.
Let it out
Sometimes you might have a lot of emotions and stress built up, so you might have moments where you feel like you want to really give up. But, if you have someone you can talk to or at least someone who is ok with you venting so you can at least feel a little heard, it will help get some of that weight off your shoulders. Also, maybe they can give you a little guidance. Another way to help with stress is at least trying to stay organized. Putting what you have to do in order to where you can manage it and still be stress free would be a big help with not feeling that overwhelming feeling.
