Have you ever heard the expression your smile lights up the room? Every time Steph Curry enters the Chase Center arena, he lights it up with crazy three pointers and ridiculous plays that make the NBA great. Even though Curry came from Davidson, a small liberal arts college in North Carolina. He is still making a big impact on and off the court. Curry came from a family of athletes, a dad who played in the NBA for 16 seasons, and a mom who played basketball and volleyball in high school.
Curry is a four time NBA Champion, and he leads the NBA in three points made. Some think he is the greatest shooter of all time. In 2015, Curry and the Warriors’ record was 73-9, best record in NBA history, with Curry shooting 45.4 % from three point range. In his entire career, Curry has an average three point shooting of 42.5% which is an efficient percentage.
In the NBA, you can be an excellent scorer, passer, rebounder etc. But when it comes down to the last seconds of the game it separates the boys from the men. You will either rise to the occasion or fall. Curry in his career has nine game winning shots, which is better than most NBA players. On top of that, Curry was an NBA Final MVP, 11 time NBA All Star, NBA All Star MVP, and two time NBA MVP. Even though Curry is a tremendous basketball player, there are others like him, Trae Young, Damian Lillard, and Luka Doncic. All of those players are excellent shooters, but what makes Curry special is he has an unreal range of about 19-39ft from the basket. The only current NBA player that is close if not matches his range is Damian Lillard. Who is known for his long range shots as well.Curry and his family are also doing amazing things off the court, like starting their own charity called Eat. Learn. Play. This foundation focuses on ensuring students are fed, making sure students have great education, and creating a safe place for kids to play. So far they raised $25 million for meals, $6 million in literacy programs, and improved 12 schools in Oakland.
In the 2024 Paris Olympics, Team USA won Gold in basketball. Curry was a big part in that win. He started out a little slow in the first games, but he showed up when it mattered most. USA was down 76-61 in the third quarter. Then, Team USA went on a run in the fourth quarter and won the game 95-91. Curry had a marvelous performance of 36 points against Serbia. In the final game against France, Curry hit an outstanding eight – three pointers. Four of which came in the fourth quarter to secure their Gold Medal. He had 24 points in the win against France.
Curry is 36 years old, and is in his 16th season in the NBA playing for the Golden State Warriors. Even though he’s a veteran in the NBA, Curry is still an NBA All Star today. Stephen Curry is a very gifted person on and off the court.
