Hunting all around the world is how humans and other animals have needed to survive

for a very long time. But nowadays, most of the time humans are hunting for sport instead of

actual survival. This is a good and bad thing for the environment around us. By doing this, we

keep populations in check, but sometimes huntable animals are being over hunted, leading to a

decrease in the populations.

The problem with this is that even in the past humans have over hunted animals and

drove them completely to extinction. These animals have now had to adapt and survive to

combat overhunting.

Hunting has become a sport in that people now set out feed and brag about how many

“points” a deer has, for example. Sometimes these hunters don’t even eat the meat off of their

kill and end up wasting the meat of the animal. This can cause problems to the ecosystem if

there is too much hunting going on. Especially people who illegally hunt. These people, called

poachers, illegally hunt. These people can cause endangered species to go extinct. They then

sell the most sought after parts to the highest bidder and don’t care about what it’d do to the

ecosystem and their populations.

Even though some people only hunt for the sport of it, indigenous people hunt for their

village or for survival. They also have special privileges in that they can hunt a number of

animals without the regulation normal people have.

Hunting isn’t a given thing though. Hunting isn’t easy. It’s a very hard endeavor, and

while hunting, you might not even see any animals. WIth even one wrong noise, you can scare

off any sort of animal that may be nearby. The preconception that hunting is easy isn’t the case

for most animals. You can go many times during the preset season for the specific animal you

are trying to hunt and never see one. This fact has made most hunters thrive off of hunting

because of the difficulty. There is also the fact that even if you see something, you might not

make the right shot and end up leaving the animal in pain, which isn’t something any person

would want to do. You can also just end up missing, which is a very infuriating feeling, especially

when you finally see an animal for the first time.

In conclusion, hunting isn’t the easiest of endeavors. The misconception of this is a very

thread in belief that most people have about it. There have even been many people that have

never got a single animal while hunting for years. Before you can actually hunt, you have to

locate the animals, which can be a grueling task in itself, especially since it’s something that you

really can’t control.
