My Top 5 Recommended Series/Movies

5. Show: Step up: highwater

  • Starz
  • Drama, Dance
  • Starring: Ne-yo, Terrence Green
  • After their mother is arrested for relapsing, a pair of twin dancers (one does ballet and one does hip-hop). end up having to move to Atlanta from Ohio with their uncle. Luckily, they find themselves in the same place where the best school for underprivileged dancers is to train and make their careers. While they’re there, they end up running into some difficult situations.
  • In my opinion, this show is great. The choreography is amazing, the soundtrack is to live for, literally. They have all the songs anyone would love, and it’s diverse. It has the perfect amount of drama and just keeps you on the edge of your seat the more you watch it.

4. Show: Hanna

  • Amazon Prime
  • Drama, Action
  • Starring: Esmé Creed-Miles, Mireille Enos, Dermot Mulroney
  • This is about a young teenage girl with excellent combat skills who has lived in the woods of Romania with her father for the entire duration of her life. She has finally gotten to the moment in her life that she has been training for. She now has to run and hide from the government and defend herself so she can’t be caught by the secret military-funded organization that is trying to take her back because her father had stolen her from them.
  • Now, this show is another one of my favorites. When I first started watching the first two episodes, it was a little boring to me, but the experiment started, and I got into the action. One thing I loved about this show is all the plot twists. Go watch it yourself, and see what you think.

3. Show: The Boys

  • Amazon Prime
  • Action fiction
  • Starring: Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr
  • In a world where they have superheroes, some care about others, and some are just careless egomaniacs that only care about themselves. A young male loses his beloved girlfriend when they get caught in the middle of illegal activities that the superheroes were doing, so he joins this group that is planning to kill all supers. He ends up falling in love with a super and now he is stuck in between the conflict.
  • This show is a bit of a comedy, but is a very enjoyable show. It kind of gives that point of view of what it would be like if we had superheroes in real life. I will say that the show does have a bit of excessive cursing, and is gory, so if you are not ok with that, don’t watch it.

2. Show: Blue Exorcist

  • Hulu
  • Anime, Horror, Drama, Dark Fantasy, Action fiction
  • Starring: Nobuhiko Okamoto, Jun Fukuyama

He also finds out that his dad was killed by Satan himself, so he vows to kill him.
  • Blue Exorcist is more of a fantasy type of show in my opinion. It has great graphics, the action scenes are very exciting, the plot twists will just keep twisting, and I just love the characters.
  • Netflix
  • Thriller
  • Starring: Kate Siegel, Jason O’mara, Dulé Hill
  • After having a stillbirth and dealing with a bit of an alcohol problem, Jenn is going through a tough time. She goes to a hypnotherapist and after their session, she starts to experience some strange things and doesn’t remember any details.
  • In my opinion, it’s a pretty good movie. At first, I was a little confused about what was happening, but once I kept watching it, everything started to unfold and make sense. It did seem a bit predictable to me, but it was still worth watching.
