On Friday the 13th in October– the spookiest day of the year– the Plaza District in Oklahoma City held a festival to celebrate. Among the festivities were live music, vendors, actors, and halloween decor. Lots of attendees came dressed up in their terrifically spooky garb, among them being clowns, skeletons, witches, ghouls, and ghosts.

The murals and art pieces around the Plaza District create a sense of life and beauty in the area. The one picture above is not seldom to the area, nor is its intriguing style. One shop along the walkway is an art gallery, featuring prints, handmade crafts, embroidery, soaps, dog collars, clay masks, everything you could think of.

Many of the ghoulish establishments along the walkway decorate in and out. Walking through, the Halloween spirit is palpable.

Many vendors selling handmade goods and crafts were available. PIctured below are two of my favorites— both featuring jewelry. The weirdness in the Plaza Districts aesthetics are reflected by those that visit and work there. Crafted rosaries, tooth necklaces, baby doll head earrings, zombie pillows, hot pink rings, all of it for great prices. A few are available at Emmo Maddox, a Chikasha resident selling her own crafts, while the second vendor had no clear ties to a business.
