Oh, To Be a Kid Again

Oh%2C+To+Be+a+Kid+Again

What are you doing? What’s on your mind?

Where are you going? Here’s how to manage time.

You should be thinking of how much you will make?

Be better than your parents, for goodness sake!

Oh to be a kid again.

Feelings of anxiety flood our brains,

wondering what we’re going to do and how long it will take.

Don’t want to let go of the memories we just made,

It’s really been four years? My goodness. Just wait.

Application after application, praying there’s no denies,

In the back of our minds we often say.

Oh to be a kid again.

Who is your friend and who is fake?

What’s your GPA? How’s your grades?

Questions like this jump around in our brains,

like tadpoles in a pond but it’s “normal” in a way.

Walking through the halls, gazing at memories we made,

Oh to be a kid again.

Hundreds of majors, minors, and trades but only pick one.

Only pick one for the rest of your life,

you’ve been here 18 years, it’s about time.

One career that you will work until you die, pick now, pick now

Or you’ll be behind.

Forget the dreams of being a singer or artist,

replace those dreams with taxes and audits.

At 18 years old I promise it’s okay just pick and hit the ground running,

I promise you’ll be okay.

Oh my oh my the feeling of being a kid again.
